Dr. Hana Paterno received her medical education from the National University of Natural Medicine where she trained as a primary care physician and focused her studies on women’s health. She has additional training in pelvic floor therapy, fertility, and preconception health. Dr. Paterno believes in empowering her patients by working with them to achieve their healthcare goals. She aims to create a safe space for patients to explore sensitive and non-sensitive health concerns. She sees every patient as unique and enjoys digging into each patient’s health history in order to get to the root of the issue.

Pelvic floor health is an area of Dr. Paterno’s professional expertise. She works with patients who are struggling with urinary incontinence or leakage, frequent urination, pelvic pain, and painful intercourse using pelvic floor evaluation and therapy techniques. Dr. Paterno’s experience working with women in labor and postpartum sparked her interest in pelvic floor health and rehabilitation and gives her a unique perspective on the topic. She has a certificate in Pelvic Floor Therapy from Herman and Wallace and has sought out additional training from leaders in the field.
Dr. Paterno is passionate about fertility and preconception health. She enjoys working with her patients to optimize their health prior to conception as well as working with patients who are struggling with fertility issues. Dr. Paterno has experience working with patients who were trying to conceive and worked with a midwife attending prenatal appointments and assisting at over 35 home births. She has attended conferences on fertility and preconception health and has sought mentorship from other healthcare professionals in the field.
When Dr. Paterno is not seeing patients, she enjoys being active outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her partner, daughter, and their dog.
